The Marfin Laiki Bank Cultural Centre, continuing a notable tradition in the promotion of Cyprus’ visual memory, through the art of photography, introduces the exhibition and bilingual publication "Andreas Soteriou: Famagusta 1940-1950, Photographic Memories".
This photographic feature presents Famagusta during the period 1940 to 1950, through its landscape, its people and its culture. Andreas Soteriou has captured his personal impressions of Famagusta with scenes from the Varosha streets and markets, the traffic and trade at the Famagusta harbour, the annual fairs of the city, as well as important events of that period.
The exhibition will be inaugurated by the Mayor of Famagusta, Alexis Galanos on May 13th, 2010, at 8:00 pm, at the Marfin Laiki Bank Hall, in Nicosia (Corner 39 Arch. Makarios III Avenue and Bouboulinas). The exhibition will be open to the public until July 2nd, 2010.
