“The case for the return of Famagusta” by the people of Famagusta

The President of Famagusta Association of Great Britain Dr Peter Karayiannis and the Mayor of Famagusta Mr Alexis Galanos will be putting forward “The case for the return of Famagusta” to the British All Party Parliamentary Group for Cyprus, following an invitation by the Chairman of the Group, the Rt. Honourable David Burrows MP.

After the presentations by Dr Peter Karayiannis and Mr Alexis Galanos, and a short video film, there will be a questions and answers session. The meeting is being held at the British Houses of Parliament and is open to the general public. We would like to extend our invitation to you to attend this meeting and lend support to the campaign for the return of Famagusta to its rightful owners. This will be the first time that such a meeting centered on Famagusta will be taking place, where the displaced people of our Town will be able to put forward “The case for the return of Famagusta” to its legal owners.

If you would like to attend please allow at least 45 minutes to clear security. We would advise people to arrive at the Houses of Parliament soon after 5.00pm.

Πενήντα χρόνια από το θάνατο του συγγραφέα Νίκου Βραχίμη, σας προσκαλούμε στο φιλολογικό μνημόσυνο που θα γίνει την Δεύτερα, 10 Οκτωβρίου 2011 στις 19:00 στο «θέατρο ένα» (Λεωφ. Αθηνάς 4) στη Λευκωσία.

Η όλη εκδήλωση είναι κάτω από την προστασία των Πολιτιστικών Υπηρεσιών του Υπουργείου Παιδείας και Πολιτισμού.

Το πρόγραμμα περιλαμβάνει:

1. Χαιρετισμός από τον αξ. Δήμαρχο Αμμοχώστου Αλέξη Γαλανό.

2. Χαιρετισμός από τον Διευθυντή των Πολιτιστικών Υπηρεσιών

ελλ. Παύλο Παρασκευά

3. Παρουσίαση από τον συγγραφέα Λεύκιο Ζαφειρίου της βιογραφίας/μελέτης της Ρήνας Κατσελλή, Ανάγνωση της ζωής του Νίκου Σ. Βραχίμη από τα ευρισκόμενα έργα του.

4. Λίγα λόγια από τη Ρήνα Κατσελλή.

5. Λίγα λόγια από τον Ανδρέα Χριστοδουλίδη για τη δραματοποίηση της νουβέλας του Νίκου Βραχίμη Ο Άγνωστος.

6. Απόσπασμα από τη δραματοποίηση Ο Άγνωστος.

Μετά την εκδήλωση θα ακολουθήσει συζήτηση μετά ποτού.
